Hypnotherapy frequently asked questions

Hypnosis has been used for thousands of years. Hypnosis is a completely natural state of deep physical and mental relaxation in which the subconscious mind becomes open and very receptive to positive changes and improvements. This is where the transformation you desire for yourself can start to take place.
We all go in and out of hypnosis throughout the day. Hypnosis is the moment between wake and sleep. We are in hypnosis first thing in the morning and right before falling asleep. Some other examples are driving and missing your exit off the freeway or daydreaming. Getting lost in a movie that makes us laugh or cry, is another example of being in a hypnotic state.
Hypnotherapy is the practice of hypnosis. It is an enjoyable experience that's highly effective in developing positive habits or releasing negative habits, old beliefs, unwanted behaviors, and feelings associated with negative experiences. It promotes inner strength and self-growth, improves focus and performance. It is also 100% natural because it uses the power of your subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy sessions can also be done remotely by phone or video chat.

Yes, you are completely alert and in full control of your mind, body, and behavior while in a hypnotic state. You can hear, speak, and even walk around. You will never do anything against your will. Your subconscious will automatically reject unwanted suggestions and accept the suggestions you want. Hypnotherapy is used as a healing tool for self-improvement and positive behavior modification.

According to research, your subconscious mind is 88% of your mind power, while your conscious mind is only 12% So your subconscious mind is in charge. The subconscious mind holds all of our "programming's", just like a computer. So we act and behave according to what is programmed in our subconscious mind. During hypnosis, the mind is calm and relaxed so the subconscious mind is open to receiving new suggestions. Once the new and positive suggestions register in the subconscious mind, positive changes start to take place in our actions and behavior. That's what hypnotherapy will accomplish.

With the help of technology, all hypnotherapy sessions can be done with video chat or phone from the comfort and safety of your own home. Actually, most of my clients prefer these remote sessions. The results are just as effective as in-person sessions.

Hypnotherapy typically begins with an initial consultation, and then you'll be guided through an induction process while sitting in a chair. After the induction, you'll transition to a comfortable, reclined position on a bed. This change in position encourages deeper relaxation of both the body and mind, making it easier to accept therapeutic suggestions. Then hypnotherapists will use relaxation techniques to guide your subconscious mind towards positive suggestions. Changes are tailored to your specific needs and goals. The experience is designed to be calm, safe, and supportive.

During hypnosis, most people experience intense concentration and awareness. There are different ways in which people describe their physical sensations during the hypnotic session. Hypnosis may feel like a form of meditation. Some people say they felt “tingly, floating, heavy, lightness, very aware or just relaxed and comfortable”. Sometimes, a client may not be aware of any physical “feeling” at all. After a hypnotic session, nearly everyone states they feel very calm, relaxed, and peaceful.

Past life regression is a process that leads individuals into a hypnotic state to access memories from previous lifetimes. It serves as a tool for self-discovery, connecting you with your higher self, and receiving self-guidance. This process can be helpful to understand current life patterns through the lens of past experiences. During the session, you'll have a guided conversation with your Higher Self, discovering that all your answers are within you. You'll learn to access this state again by simply relaxing and being open.

In 1958, Hypnosis was recognized by the American Medical Association as a method for applications in both medicine and dentistry (National Library of Medicine). While Hypnotherapy offers valuable support, it should not be considered as a substitute for conventional medical or psychological treatment.

The initial session is about 90 minutes and it includes:
A detailed consultation to understand what the issue is and what changes you would like to happen after hypnotherapy.
Explaining how hypnotherapy works for your specific issue. Explaining tools and technique's for your specific goals.
Suggestibility Testing to understand how you take in suggestions and information. Because every person is a unique individual, this testing allows hypnotherapists to customize powerful hypnotic suggestions that work best for your specific need.
The last part of the first session is the Hypnotherapy itself.
A subsequent session is about 45-60 minutes and it includes:
Consultation to know how you have been progressing since our last session.
For further improvement, coaching and instructional resources are provided.
The last part is Hypnotherapy focusing, reinforcing, and deepening techniques.
Each Past Life Regression session can take up to two hours.

This is a participatory process. You must want to be hypnotized and allow it. Client participation is very important. For hypnosis to work, the client must be motivated and willing to work with the hypnotherapist. Together, the client and the therapist come up with a plan, and the client does their part by doing their assigned work and listening to the provided audio recording a few times a week. Repetition is very important for creating new behaviors. Some people notice a significant improvement by only 3 or 4 sessions and for some others, it may take longer. Every person is a unique individual and every issue and the cause of the issue is different for everybody. Therefore, the number of sessions or results are not determined by the Hypnotherapist.
